We make skin cleansing products that are good for you and better for the planet.
Long Description
About the Products:
Sand Dollar Soapery makes skin cleansing products free of synthetic ingredients: no artificial colors, no chemical perfumes, no detergents, no phthalates, no parabens. If a soap or scrub has a color, it comes from a clay, an ingredient like activated charcoal, coffee, or seeds, or a mica. If it has a scent, it is from a single note essential oil or an essential oil blend. Masks, which I formulate with water, do require an anti-bacterial preservative. All ingredients are sourced from the US; from other small businesses; and locally, when possible. I do not take up retail space – all products are made in my home, sold on the web, and at local farmer’s markets.
About the Packaging: We are plastic free! Solid products are boxed in cardboard; liquid products are contained in glass jars with metal, not plastic lids. Soaps are wrapped in plant-based, home compostable wrap to avoid “sweat.” Shipping materials are made from recycled material and are recyclable. My next goal is soy-based ink.
About the Maker:
I fit in many categories, not necessarily in this order and not necessarily only these: 1) BIPOC woman (Puerto Rican and Dominican); 2) Child of immigrants (1st and 2nd generation); 3) Ally (EVERY body has a right to equity, autonomy, dignity, and affirming care); 4) Educator (LatinX professor by day); 5) Maker (my hobby turned into a business) 6) Fur mom (every room in my house belongs to pug Churro).
